The multiplayer uses Gamespy client and has a built in ELO ranking system. This allows a fine control during firefights and allows you to pull off things like throwing grenades and aiming for specific parts on a tank with precision. Men of War Assault Squad has a direct control feature to enable the player to take control of any unit on the field with a press of a key. While Men of War Assault squad is mainly geared toward reinovating the multiplayer element of the game, it also features a single player skirmish mode where the player must complete objectives and defeat waves of enemies. Maybe they've patched it significantly since then, but I highly doubt it.Quote: Men of war Assault squad, like its predecessors is a real time strategy game employing use of realistic elements such as cover based fighting, modeled tank combat based off of penetration and deflection of shells (scaled down) and a unique Fog of war system. All in all I was disappointed with the game and haven't played it in over a month. It's a laser beam and it sucks a lot of the life out of the game. You cannot move across open ground really at any distance without it killing your entire squad, even if you suppress it. The machine guns are far too accurate, namely the mg-42.

Another thing that pisses me off is how unbalanced infantry is now. Not even possible to make a medium tank until the opening moves are completed. Example: in Men of War, you could start off with a t34-57, great tank, but on AS2 you MUST start off with an armoured car or something of that nature. And as far as I know, you can't disable that feature in online play. It really makes the game linear and you can expect the same thing every time. Like, you have to wait 5 minutes or so if you want to make a panzer iii, 7 for a panzer iv, etc and there's no way to disable that. It didn't have the timers on crap that they like to keep bringing back. Personally I only ever played the original Men of War. Honestly it isn't nearly as tactical as I would like it.
